Welch Field Crowns New Tournament Champions
The Welch Field Summer Recreation Program held their first ever capture the flag tournament and their annual four square tournament during the month of July. All participants came to enjoy one of their favorite and most popular activites Welch Field has ever seen. Teams competed in a series
of timed games, with each
team getting a chance to
compete multiple times.
After several eliminations only two teams remained. At the end of a nail biting match, one team came out victorius, and crowned the 2011 Welch Field Capture the Flag Champions.
Children of all ages came to participate in the second annual Welch Field Four Square Tournament. After several rounds and many eliminations, a new champion rose from the ranks to be rewarded with the title of Welch Field Four Square Champion.
Participation in both events was greater than expected but greatly appreciated and welcomed. Welch Field hopes to see similar results in the years to come. Welch Field would like to thank all who participated and who were involved with yet another year of successful tournaments.
The Welch Field Pool and Field House Programs are dedicated to providing a safe, positive experiential and enjoyable atmosphere for youth and families. We offer opportunities to build community, promote respect for others, and encourage an active lifestyle among the local youth. Our facility includes a fully staffed swimming pool, a recreation program complete with basketball and baseball fields, and our newest addition, a skate park! Welch field enforces a no smoking and no pet policy and asks participants to help us keep the facility safe and family friendly by adhering to these policies.
